park amenities
We’ve been fighting a group of mostly out of state, transient neighbors who are strongly opposed to Sand Box and our already approved amenities. Most of these neighbors, save for 1 travel to St. Anthony specifically to recreate in the dunes. And yet, their opposition is against us being there to do exactly what they travel to St. Anthony for.
The park in general cannot be appealed as all approvals have been lawfully and legally completed and all policies, procedures and documents have been filed with the County throughout the development process. The only avenue they have to appeal at this point is the most recent approval of our general store, kids’ playground, sand volleyball and pickleball courts, and other small game amenities.
The Appeal hearing is scheduled for April 29th at 6:00 pm in the County Annex Building in St. Anthony. Any and all support in favor of these amenities being again approved and the appeal being denied is appreciated.

We are currently under appeal due to individual neighbors of Sand Box who decided that certain amenities that have been approved nearly a year ago, should be declined.
These individuals have fought any and all approvals for the park from the very beginning - and this appeal is just their next move.
Our appeals hearing regarding the General Store, along with other amenities such as a kid’s playground, sand volleyball pit, pickleball courts and other small amenities, is scheduled for April 29th. Once a decision is made regarding this particular appeal we’ll be able to fully move forward with the amenities. We are anticipating the appeal will be denied and the approval will be upheld, but until the decision is again final, we are on hold for certain aspects of the store.
But - when the appeal is denied, this is what you can expect…
Whether you forgot it, or didn’t know you needed it until you got here, we’ll have a huge selection of merch, parts, snacks, supplies, accessories, and necessities to help you enjoy your stay. with 2400 square feet of store space, we’ll have plenty of what you need! -
Not everybody can bring their own bathroom with them. We’ve got you covered. Our public facilities, are clean, comfortable, private, and ADA compliant.
-
Need a dump, we got you covered! Conveniently located just inside our park entrance is our two lane RV dump for Sand Box guests only. On your way in, or your way out, whatever you need.
Future plans include a mobile dump service, but we’re still working on this one! -
We have some real awesome neighbors who have been fighting the park build at every turn. Their current trick is to appeal the County’s decision to approve our Kid’s playground, along with other standard park amenities.
We don’t understand what anybody has against kids being able to enjoy themselves safely on a playground, but here we are.
The Board of County Commission Hearing is scheduled for April 29th. As soon as a decision is made, we’ll have more information regarding what playground we’ll be able to have at the park.
Any support in favor of the playground can be emailed in to the county planning and zoning commission, along with support of Sand Box as a park, Sand Volleyball courts, pickleball courts, and the general store. All emails must be submitted by noon April 13th to be considered for the hearing. We desperately need and appreciate any and all support we can get regarding this appeal. -

We are a pet-friendly facility as long as you’re bringing friendly pets. Our large, fenced and grassy pet area is the perfect spot for your 4 legged friend to run around unleashed (at your own discretion and risk, of course).
